ICT = Information and Communications Technology, sometimes known as "educational technology".

The ICT in Education website and the Computers in Classrooms newsletter are intended for educators who use, teach, lead or manage educational technology or ICT in an educational setting.

Young people's perspectives

Here are some ideas for articles. Please feel free to amend them or suggest others.To indicate that you'll write one, please enter your name next to it. If you'd like to write more than one, please put your name and order of preference (eg 1, 2 etc) next to it.
  • The ideal learning environment. New schools or major refurbishments to existing ones are usually decided by professionals like architects and teachers. If you had a free hand in designing a new school, what would it look like, and what sort of features would it have, and why?
  • What teachers really need to know. Does the average teacher know enough about educational technology to be able to teach youngsters effectively? What do they need to know, and be able to do? And what would be the most effective way for them to acquire these skills?
  • How could the experience of using technology in schools be improved?
  • Should cell phones and other mobile devices be banned from the classroom? Why/why not?
  • Should teenagers be banned from using Facebook? (I read an article recently which almost got as far as saying that, on the grounds that teenagers are unable to keep themselves safe. There's an article about that, and a link to the article I'm referring to, here.
  • How I use technology. Do u have an ipod, what do u do in MySpace (or whatever) etc?
